Dealing With Drought Conditions & Watering Restrictions

 With the availability of water to water landscapes becoming more challenging each day, being aware of what you can do to maintain a healthy, low water usage landscape is possible  if you take a little time out to educate yourself on the products and technology available today to address the challenges. I will share a short list of valuable tools that you can include in your " Landscaping Toolbox " to deal with many irrigation related challenges When it comes to your landscaping.
  1. Check with your local water provider to see what kind  watering requirements/restrictions are planned or are in place in your water district. It is very​ important to know what you can and cannot do when dealing with watering your landscapes.
  2. Have a professional water audit conducted by a knowledgeable landscaping professional. They should be able to check your current landscape irrigation system and alert you to actual and possible irrigation system challenges and problems that will need to addressed and/or corrected. 
  3. Investigate for possible landscape rebate opportunities through your water supplier. There are possibly cash rebate programs that will help guide you in upgrading your current irrigation system and landscaping palette to help make sure you are watering efficiently and how fun it is get paid to do it . 
  4. Upgrade your current irrigation system to water efficient sprinkler system pop-ups, In-stem flow regulated products, drip irrigation products, and Wi -Fi  weather based and moisture  sensor adapted irrigation controllers. * Some of the mentioned are rebatable product items in some water districts. 
  5. Utilize soil moisture managing products, organic mulches, and proper plant nutritional supplements to ensure optimal health and watering efficiency when you do water your landscapes. 
By incorporating these suggestions and tips mentioned you can feel confident that  you have done your part top help save water and the water you use on your landscape is being  used  efficiently.
